Federico Malaman

Bassist, Double Bassist and Arranger, graduated in Classical Double Bass in 2000 from the Verona Conservatory E.Dall’Abaco.

He began his career collaborating with Paolo Belli’s Big Band on RAI programs such as “Torno Sabato”(a television broadcast that had between 8 and 12 million viewers per episode) , “Ballando con le stelle” (the Italian format of “Dancing with the Stars”), “Sanremo Estate”, “Telethon”, and many others.

He has also toured with renowned Italian artists including Mario Biondi, Elio e le Storie Tese, Ornella Vanoni, Paolo Belli, and Antonella Ruggiero.

Thanks to his extraordinary versatility, he has established himself as a sought-after session musician and virtuoso bassist on the international jazz-fusion-progressive scene.

With experience in recording studios, festivals, and TV programs, he has become a reference point for musicians and enthusiasts alike. His online popularity, due to his technique, charm, and communicative ability, has made him a popular educator and influential musician.

In various musical contexts, he has also performed with other great artists, including singers as Lucio Dalla, Zucchero, Renato Zero, Giorgia, Ron, George Benson, Al Jarreau, Blue, Tony Hadley, Nik Kershaw, Wilson Pickett, etc…

or musicians as Paolo Fresu, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Hadrien Feraud, Billy Gibbons, Frank Gambale, Scott Kinsey, Gergo Borlai, Nicolas Viccaro, Virgil Donati, Stef Burns, Matteo Mancuso and many many others.

Recently, he was invited to perform as a Special Guest at the GroundUP Festival with Snarky Puppy.

Additionally, he was a speaker at the prestigious 2025 TEDX event.
